Dear Father,
I’ve been writing more in my journals and such, letters to you. E. and I had a great anniversary. We had our first kiss a bit late, and I told her I loved her. So.. I’m off work now, after nearly a full shift. Things are going pretty well I guess. Took off the tip jar on the ko-fi page. I’m not really looking for donations right now, nor am I really ready for art commissions. I would like to help M. pay off some debt, but really.. Everyone has debt. I could spend every dollar I have paying off debts, and do that the rest of my life. If everyone who was able to do that did? I think we would see a shift in our economy, and perhaps.. people could to some extent escape poverty. I’m not talking about force wealth redistribution. We know communism doesn’t work, or at least we should know that from the experiments in Europe and Asia, as well as Cuba. Socialism doesn’t work for very long either (look at Venezuela).
I’m not advocating anything. I know poverty will always be an issue, but Jesus said, "The poor you will always have with you, and you can help them whenever you like, but Me you will not always have”
So we can’t eliminate poverty. We can be kind and compassionate and help those in need with whatever they need. This isn’t the State’s job, or a charity’s job, it’s the Church’s job to care for the poor.
