The Way, The Truth, and The Life and testimony

Okay, guys. So, if you’ve followed me for a bit, you know I’ve got a chronic illness that requires daily medication to manage. However, unlike many whose illnesses prevent them from working, I am able to work a bit.

I guess it’s time to give you my testimony. When I was the only child of a single mother, I was angry, lonely, and Mom took me to church. I used to complain and be impatient, but one day I listened intently to the priest. I began to absorb knowledge of God and Jesus. I prayed to Jesus, asking him to save me, forgive me, and made him Lord of my life. My aunt says I was 5 years old at the time. I honestly remember it a bit later than that. In any case, the anger vanished. I was still lonely, but it was like there was this little pond of peace at the bottom of my heart and soul.

So, I grew, my faith grew, and I was close to the Lord. Then at 15 I got sick, and 18, and then several times after that. My doctor put me on medicine that manages my symptoms, but it’s something I’ll always have, even with the latest treatments and drugs.

I feel like there is so much more to tell than I can right now. I could probably write several posts about this. I know of only one other person who deals with the illness I have and still functions. He’s a Christian as well.

So what am I saying? Life with Jesus is bearable. It’s enjoyable, it’s true life, as Jesus said,” I am the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through me”

Maybe you’re in a low point right now. Maybe things are going well. Still, there’s that restlessness inside you. Instead of sticking your feet in a pond you’re being scorched by a hot east wind.

Come to Jesus. Pray to Him. Confess your need, repent (turn from your sins, even if it’s just a promise to try not to do them), and turn to Him. Accept his offer of eternal life, and submit to Him as Lord. There’s plenty of sample prayers out there, but the best come from your own heart.

After you accept Jesus, your sins are forgiven, and you are given new life. Go to a church, get baptized (immersed, as Jesus was), and read your bible. Pursue a personal relationship with Jesus, and stay close to Him as much as you can.

It will change your life, and affect the lives of everyone around you for the better.
