Let's talk identity. I don't identify as a white male conservative. I am those things, but my identity lies in Christ, in whom there is "neither male nor female, slave nor free"
Not that we stop being those things as Christians, but as Christians we look beyond these things in others and ourselves to the all important relationship with Christ. Our love for our Lord is the most important thing, and if we love Him, we will love our neighbors, because we are all made in God's image.
Why did the first century church share everything willingly? Love. Why did Christians build all those schools and hospitals? Love. Why did Christ go to the cross? Love!
It's not a sappy,"Do whatever you want," love. It's not passive or weak.
"Love is as strong as death," it overcame the grave, and it will overcome the attempts to divide and deceive people who go about their lives. I am for Christ, and that's how I align my life, by obedience to His commandments as written in the bible. In the end Truth prevails, Life overcomes death, and the Way of Righteousness is the only Way.
Before I knew Christ, I was angry and in despair, and after I knew Christ, I became peaceful and had hope. Jesus changes lives, not politics, not government, not religion, not education, not money nor fame, nor success. He is the only solution to the sin problem. He is the only path that leads to life.
