Dear Father,
I found an old journal chronicling my playing of Warframe. I took a break from it for two years. Then I played it for about a week, and haven’t played it or any other videogame since, except for a few short lapses. God, you enabled me to abstain from videogames. My friends don’t really understand. I guess I had a lot of reasons, one being that the puppies need my attention, and so I don’t have enough to game and take care of them. I know they’re two years old, or maybe three now? Still, they’re more important than videogames.
If you’re reading this, there’s healing from addiction, and wholeness to be found in Jesus. I don’t know if it’s drugs, food, gambling, or whatever. A relationship with Christ is the beginning of freedom. I played for 30 years, and God finally freed me. I believe he can do the same for you. Repent of your sins, accept Jesus forgiveness, invite Him into your heart and life. Confess Him as Lord in front of a body of believers, and get baptized (immersed). There is an extra benefit: You will have a support network to help you stay off games, and to help you deal with whatever challenges life throws your way.
