journal, testimony, and gospel sharing

Dear Father,

Thank you for this day. Not a lot is going on. Roku is acting weird. I'm half watching it while Mom is sleeping.

I'm still feeling kind of blocked. I think this morning took its toll. Maybe that's okay. I'm coming to terms with it. Not that I like it, but.. I'm used to it. How many people have that? A cross? A burden? A dilemma that they can't outrun, can't escape, can't fight back.

At least I have Jesus. So many don't. Ooh, liking saving Mr. Banks. The wound. The wound the father (human father) deals to each offspring. That's the real source of pain. Adam's fall, our first father. Every fatherless person knows that wound. It might be a little different for each person, but it's there.

I'm not sure why I'm writing like this. Jesus is the answer. He heals the wound with his own, and points us to the true Father, God. You may not agree, you may not like it, but that's the truth.

Before I came to Christ, I was full of anger and despair. Then, when I came to know Him, that anger evaporated. The despair lifted. He healed my heart, and he can heal yours, too.

Call out to Him. Call on the name of Jesus and you will be saved. Pray, in your own words. Admit you are a sinner. Turn from your sin and to Jesus. His death on the cross paid for your sins. Accept His forgiveness, and confess Him as Lord and Savior. Part of having Jesus as Lord means that when you sin, you repent, confess it and its wrongness, and ask for forgiveness. You don't promise not to sin again (especially if you have an addiction), but that you will try not to. That you will repent and return to God when you get off track.

Once you have done this, go to a church, get baptized. Get discipled. Continue on the marathon toward the prize: Heaven with Jesus, the Father, and the saints. Read your bible daily (even if it's not cover to cover). Pray every day, and go to church as often as you can. Believe in Jesus. Trust Jesus. Grow in Christ. It’s not an easy path, but it’s the only one that gives life, abundant life, and eternal life.
