Dear Father and Learning

Dear Father,

Thank you for this day. I played a bit too much videogames today. I think.. Maybe my addiction to videogames is part of my cross. Not all of it, there are other aspects, but for a while you let me live without it. That was sweet, but I didn’t always make the best use of that time.

Now I’m gaming again, and You are helping me with self-control. Somehow this is for your glory. VIdeogames have enslaved the male millennials for the most part. Generation Z may have lost everything to cell phones and parents not teaching them what they need to succeed as adults.

Videogames take your time and money. You might have online friends, but they are trapped just like You are. Why can some addicts walk away and never take another drink, or another cigarette, and others have partial victories, seasons in their life when they walk upright.

Here is what I think: Its shows us that no matter what we do, God still loves us. There will be consequences to our actions, to the problems we create, but He will not leave or forsake us. When I am off gaming and doing well, I start to think that I’m good enough. That God hears my prayers because of a righteous self. That’s not true. God hears our prayers because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That’s why Christianity is different from other religions. Their founders are dead, buried in the grave. Our is alive. They preach Heaven through good deeds, earning it. We preach Christ, who payed the price for us. We live in freedom, doing good with right motives, to help others and glorify God, not to better ourselves, or try to prop up our ego.

That’s why Jesus is “The Way, The Truth, and the Life,” and no one comes to the Father (God) but through Him. Wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Small is the gate, and narrow is the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” Matt 7:13-14

You have a choice to make. Each time you hear the gospel, you can accept it. Or you can reject it. It’s your choice. You may hear the gospel once or one hundred times. That’s the degree of God’s mercy in your life.

“Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion” Hebrews 3:15

Don’t wait until tomorrow, or when you feel like it, or when it’s convenient. Turn to Him, while you can.
