Dear Father 09252019

Dear Father,

Thank you for this day. Not a lot is going on. I listened to a friend talk about climate change the other day. I don’t believe in climate change. I believe that the earth and the heavens will be destroyed by fire at God’s command. So, how can God destroy it if we destroy it ourselves?

My friend, unlike some people, doesn’t call me a bigot or hateful for disagreeing with him. He understands that I believe what the bible teaches. Most of my beliefs are shared by orthodox Muslims and Jews. It’s just weird that only Christians come under fire for their beliefs. Now, there is a lot of anti-Semitism around, which is wrong.

We owe the Hebrew culture so much. They gave us the Law, which, our law is based on the ten commandments. Laws against stealing, murdering, lying under oath. Then there’s the fact that many Jews have been influential in history throughout the centuries, even post New Testament times. Almost every scientist working in the Manhattan Project was Jewish. Many actors, philosophers, political leaders, and more were Jewish, are Jewish.

I guess I’m just chasing rabbits today (kind of wandering around without a clear goal on this blog).

But yeah, since when does disagreeing with someone make you evil? Cultural relativists would say that each person’s truth is true to them, and while I don’t agree with that, it follows from that belief that people are going to believe different things, and that’s okay.

Lord, help me have a good day, and do the works You have for me today.
