Some will say that Western civilization is bad, and one of the problems is private property. However, private property ownership, as an idea, is as old and Middle Eastern as can be. Genesis 12:7 records that God promised Abraham’s descendants the land that belonged to the Canaanites. Because of the wickedness of Canaan, his descendants were expelled from their land. Israel, under Joshua,
In any case, God promised Abraham property belonging to His descendants. It wasn’t shared property. It belonged only to his descendants. Then the land was divided up by tribe, In Chapter 15-19, further expressing private property. Only the descendants of a specific tribe were allowed a specific area of land.
Marxism says that there should be no private property, and that this will result in some kind of social freedom and utopia. But it has been tried over and over and failed in every country including every nation in the former U.S.S.R., Venezuela, Cuba. China has been communist for less time than those other states, and they’re a hybrid form, not pure communism. They combine aspects of capitalism and communism.
In every case where communism fails? 100s of millions of people die. 100 million in Russia’s experiment.
I can quote the Wall Street Journal article “100 Years of Communism—and 100 Million Dead”
which says, “ The Bolshevik plague that began in Russia was the greatest catastrophe in human history.”
In four years in China under Mao Zedong’s Great Leap Forward? According a to Thought.co of the same name, 20 million people, minimum, and probably a lot closer to 45 million. That was in three years!
According to BBC News Khmer Rouge: Cambodia's years of brutality
Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge killed over 2 million people.
Marxism is an evil blight that has killed too many already. It has failed, time and again. The idea is pernicious, and its fruit is poisonous and deadly. And that’s understatement.
