Today a godly man (Charlie Kirk) was assassinated, shot down for speaking the truth. And many mourn, but some may be rejoicing. But we’re not going to stop speaking truth. The prophets of old spoke truth, though many paid with their lives, such as Isaiah, Zechariah, John the Baptist, and the apostles, save John.
I for one, am tired of the nonsense going on in our nation and colleges. Let’s just talk colleges for a moment. I for one had a great deal of help finishing college. So, while it pains me to say this, I will. Colleges offer students tens of thousands of dollars of debt, and even if they finish their degree, which many don’t, they have zero real job skills. Unless you are going to teach, or are in computer science or mathematics, likely you will not have a job waiting for you when you graduate with a four year degree. In 2013 a local college boasted a graduation rate of 43% in a 6 year period. Most students go for a semester, fail their classes, and move on with their lives.
When I was ready to graduate? I had an exit interview. The interviewer gave me one possible company to apply to. I never heard back from them (even an email), and I never heard from the interviewer again. He even seemed irritated with me. I don’t know why. Was it because I had actually succeeded at the Midway carnival game of higher education?
My degree? A computer can do what I do in about 3 minutes, where it would take me a day of research, a day of good solid writing, and a few days editing my project. I have no job skills from college. Praise God, I don’t have any student loan debt. Because if I did, I would have a hard time paying it off.
Furthermore, colleges and universities indoctrinate students to wokeness, LGBQT, liberalism, and in many instances even Communism, which is antithetical to our Republic, and spew anathema against the biblical family unit (by which I mean one man, one woman, married for life, in which neither suffers from gender dysphoria).
Gender dysphoria. Do you know that in previous editions of the DSM (V, IV, etc.) gender dysphoria is listed as a mental illness (a subcategory of body dysmorphic disorder) in which a person (who often been severely sexually abused for a period of time) hates their body, and wishes to be the other sex (there are only two), and identifies as the other sex. When I was in hospital, there was a man with severe gender dysphoria in my unit. He was a very unhappy man. And identifying as a woman did not alleviate his mental illness.
My point, although there was a lot of rambling and rabbit chasing, is that Christians are not going to stop speaking Truth. I don’t know about conservatives. I’m sure this is going to make a lot of them be more careful. But are we not going to stop. The prophets and the apostles and many Jews and Christians have spoken through for thousands of years. And I’m not intimidated. We will not be silent. And even if every Christian in the world were slain (many people’s wet dream), then the end will come upon the rest of you (if not much sooner). I don’t think there is much more time for people to repent and believe in Jesus.
Here’s also what’s going to happen. I don’t mean any disrespect. I am praying for Charlie Kirk’s family. Not for Mr. Kirk, who is in Heaven with Jesus. But his family, who lost their father and husband. But people who were Kirk’s enemies are going to say a lot of nice things about him.
This is consistent with the biblical teaching of Jesus when he confronted the Pharisees. The Pharisees ancestors killed the prophets and the Pharisees built their tombs. They probably adorned them, made them nice and presentable. But Jesus said they were the sons of murderers.
“Woe to you, because you build tombs for the prophets, and it was your ancestors who killed them. So you testify that you approve of what your ancestors did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.”
(Luke 11:47-48). God continually sends ‘prophets and apostles’ to tell people the Truth. Many of them are persecuted or killed (or worse).
I am seriously considering a podcast or video or something. Because instead of being bullied into silence, I, and we as Christians need to speak the Truth even more than ever. Because neither getting canceled, nor bullets, nor machetes, nor getting your property or village burned down by people does not stop the gospel. On the contrary, the more it is resisted, the more it flourishes.
I have held onto this article in hopes that time would ripen it. It seemed very raw, and is probably offensive. But if we are silenced by the threat of bullets, or canceling, or what have you, will we share the gospel and the Truth like our brother Charlie? We must testify of what we know about God and the Bible. The end is coming sooner than any of us expect.
