Dear XTC,
Thank you for this day. Not a lot is going on. I attended a CGAA meeting two nights ago. It was nice to share stories and realize I’m not alone. I’m not sure my addiction is as severe as other peoples’? Maybe it just hasn’t progressed as far as others. I don’t know. I do feel a psychological dependence on video games, so I’m saying it’s there, just not in full force. All the more reason to consider not letting it be a part of my life.
However, a lot of my personal mythology comes from video games, and the comic Re:Gaia features a woman whose mind is in a computer server that runs a virtual reality that sustains the lives of those affected by a disease that leaves them comatose. Without Gaia to keep their minds active, their bodies die. I won’t go into it much more, as the ending and plot twists are several surprises.
Finished reading Murder on the Orient Express. The ending was very different (without spoiling what it is). I wasn’t expecting it, but Christie’s attention to detail and weaving of this complex tale is masterful. No detail is without meaning, no expression, turn of phrase. I finished the book a bit stunned at her ability to coordinate and imply the clues and represent the characters. I would say it’s almost flawless. Almost. Which is probably the highest praise I’ve ever given with the exception of Milton and the bible, (though I love Shakespeare’s works and many others).
Well, time to jot down that agenda and try and get some stuff done.
