Dear XTC,
Thank you for this day. Not a lot is going on. I have short shifts all this week. Maybe that means I can get more stuff done than usual. Not sure. Need to do the dailies, writing, drawing, a bit of exercise. I guess that those would be quests in an MMO. Haven’t played one of those in a while, praise the Lord. I think I started my sabbatical from video games 13 months ago. I’ve fallen off the wagon a few times, but I feel like my mood is better.. I know I’m eating better (gaming always made me super hungry). I’m not saying games are evil, nor alcohol, in moderation. Playing it 24 hours straight definitely is. So why did I do it? I have animals, M., a house and yard and work. I feel like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done, let alone playing games for 4-5 hours every day. That’s a part time job.
And I worry for the next generation. They pick up cell phones when they are infants. I know it affects the way their brains develop. There is a lot of money in the gaming industry, so that kind of research will probably come a lot later.
Gaming isn’t evil, but anything in excess is. Also, as Paul wrote
"12 “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are beneficial. “All things are lawful for me,” but I will not be dominated by anything. “
