Dear Father and another verse?

Dear Father,

Thank you for this day. Not a lot is going on. I felt a little propelled into my day. I wanted to spend more time with You in devo, but felt the pups needed me, and I had to take my meds. I know that in the cases of certain sins, or maybe every sin, there is a way out of it, a manner of escape so we will not yield to temptation. I experienced that this morning.

Well, the verses I would like the share with the readers is

8
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
9 Do not be like the horse or the mule,
which have no understanding
but must be controlled by bit and bridle
or they will not come to you.

God promises to teach us and guide us. A lot of times for believers, that’s the Holy Spirit working in us. God can speak to us through His Word, through godly counsel, through things that come into our lives, and a myriad more.

Still, the anointing of the Holy Spirit is what teaches us. I love this verse for its poetics, but it’s also practical. We don’t have to be afraid of making bad decisions or stupid mistakes. We will, but God promises to guide us. God guided the Israelites in the desert, he guided Joshua into the promise land, he guided David in battle and in his kingship, and so much more. He is always there with a lesson, ready to teach us something about himself. We just need to remember, although God is very gracious and gives us precious promises, we exist to serve Him and to love God and our neighbor. But God is foremost. It is ultimately not about us. it’s about God, and the sooner we realize that, the better.

“For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.”

We exist because of God, and our purpose is to glorify God. We exist for Him, not for ourselves. Hope that helps.
